My first “ride” on a two-wheeler was over 30 years ago, starting out riding around the farm on a mini-bike. I moved on to several different motorcycles, dirt bikes and road bikes through my life. I currently ride a 2007 Ultra Classic. I am a prime example of way too many people – self taught, endorsed right at 16 and ride many years without having a clue what safe motorcycling was all about.
I often tell people that while I have been riding for over 30 years, for almost 25 of those years I was just lucky because I didn’t know what I was doing. My eyes were opened when I started pursuing motorcycle safety, and I later became an instructor. It is my goal to help people realize that motorcycling can be a way of life or can be a hobby, but that it is far more enjoyable if you start with the skills and confidence to ride safely.
Our roads and highways are full of challenges, but with good, solid motorcycling skills and mental strategies, you can ride safely with confidence! Don't hesitate to email me. |

I began teaching motorcycle safety courses at Capital City Harley in 2004. My passion for motorcycles began several years ago when I was in high school. I enjoy coaching novice riders to also share in the wonderful experience of motorcycling, and do it safely. I also enjoy several outdoor activities and hunting, as well as spending time with my wife and kids whenever possible. The goal I have for all riders is to have fun, ride within your own limitations and remember other drivers have a hard time seeing us while on the roadway. I hope everyone has as much fun with this course as I did when I took it several years back. Enjoy the ride and stay safe! |

I have been riding for 24 years now street/dirt and lots of touring. I have been an active member of HOG and the AMA for past 10 years. Currently I am riding a 100th Anniversary Dyna FXD-P. My wife and I do lots of traveling by motorcycle all over this great country. I spent two tours in the Persian Gulf, one in 1991 with the US Marine Corps and one in 2003 with the Army National Guard. I learned two important things while there- the USA is the greatest place in the world and you need to enjoy life, which for me means riding! That is why I have taught Accident Scene management for past 10 years. I wanted to be able to keep riders safe and as an EMT for over 15 years I thought I could share some of that life-saving knowledge with other riders. Now I am hoping to share my knowledge of riding with others as riding is the greatest hobby (for me an obsession) out there. Click to email me. |

My first motorcycling experiences were as a passenger when I was in high school. After college, I did a lot of riding on the back of a bike, but I grew tired of being a passenger. I wanted to be in control of the motorcycle. In 1989 I took the MSF Beginner RiderCourse, got my motorcycle endorsement and bought a 700cc Honda Shadow. I can’t express how much the Beginner RiderCourse helped me. Not only did I become a safer motorcycle rider, but I also gained a lot of confidence in myself and my riding abilities. I have been a Rider’s Edge RiderCoach since 2004. My passion for motorcycling is very high, and I hope to pass that, along with the ability to ride safely, onto you. Click to email me. |

Several years ago I decided to get on a motorcycle for the first time. At my ridersafety class, our instructor told us that someone in the room would someday be a riding instructor. I laughed at him and told him to get his eyes checked. I guess the joke was on me (he was right!). Now I get to ride a motorcycle at work. I’m still waiting to wake from that dream. I enjoy riding with my wife, Virginia, and two children. The kids are just starting to ride as passengers and are thrilled! I especially like riding with friends. I find long distance rides are an exciting challenge and a great way to see our country. I’ve ridden around Lake Michigan and to Sturgis with friends. I made a solo trip to Las Vegas. I can’t get enough. I try to make my classes like my rides…safe, laid back, relaxed, and fun! Join us. I can’t wait to see you there. Click to email me. |

Hello and Welcome to our program. I have been riding motorcycles since my very early 20’s. I started while I was in the Air Force during the Viet Nam conflict. I have ridden a 250 Suzuki, a 550 Yamaha, a Gold Wing and I now ride a Harley Davidson Ultra Classic. If you choose to enter the wonderful world of motorcycling, or have been riding for many years, this program is for you. We hear all the time from veteran riders, "Wow, I learned a lot". Learning to ride safely is one of the most important things you can do for yourself, Come visit us and see what we do here. We are on the range most every weekend, rain or shine and will be willing to chat with you about the Riders Edge Program. It is my goal to help anyone who wants to ride, to learn to do it safely. I completed the MSF Rider Coach Certification at MATC in May of 2006, afterwards became certified by Harley-Davidson as a Rider’s Edge Coach and have been one of the many Instructors at Capital City Harley-Davidson ever since. I started riding motorcycles as a teenager when I borrowed a friend’s Yamaha 175 Enduro.
After my wife completed the Rider’s Edge Beginner Rider Course, she talked me into taking it! I’m sure glad I did! My wife and I organize an annual overnight motorcycle ride with friends that have seen as many as 17 couples join us! Prior to each ride, we make sure everyone understands what is expected and communicates through use of hand signals. Please practice safety before, during and after each ride! We will show you how; it’s up to you to make it happen! Enjoy! Click to email me. |

I started riding dirt bikes when I was 6. I commute by motorcycle every day unless there is snow or ice on the roads. I teach because I want people to enjoy the sport safely, the more motorcyclists on the road means more drivers will see us and everyone who has the desire to ride should have the opportunity to learn to ride.
